A strange time

December 26, 2008 Suzie

Well, Christmas is over and i must say it’s been a really strange year. Things have been different in many ways and I feel my whole approach this year has been very different.
Firstly, I have found myself being annoyed this year on more than one occasion that the whole meaning of Christmas is so ignored and so commercialised! Being at uni has made this even clearer, not only because the message of Jesus isn’t known but because there is so much hurt.

One thing I have loved this year is being with family and there’s still a lot more of this to come for me but it’s been such a blessing. However, I know that a lot of my friends families don’t feel so blessed. For them they have had to spend this too long holiday with broken families that they don’t like and don’t have much in common with. Hiw sad especially because the story of Jesus brings so much joy to our lives.

One of my friends wrote a blog over Christmas that emphasised not just Jesus being born but the whole reason He came to this earth. The Christmas story leads to the Story and there is no greater story.
This year, myself and my Dad have been poorly over Christmas so we weren’t able to go to church and i really missed that but its been such a blessing to read various blogs, to remmeber the real reason for this time and to know that out there, somewhere people know the real meaning! So thank you to those of you who share these things, what a blessing!

Isn’t He so good to bless even through the midst of sickness? I just adore Him 🙂
